DURRAT AL BAHRAIN EXHIBITS AT CITYSCAPE DUBAI

Durrat Al Bahrain, the Kingdom’s largest planned luxury residential, commercial and tourist resort development, announced today that it will be exhibiting at Cityscape Dubai 2008.

This is the fourth year that Durrat Al Bahrain has exhibited at Cityscape Dubai, the world’s largest real estate event.  The international event attracts regional and international investors, property developers, governmental and development authorities, leading architects, designers and consultants from the property industry.  It provides an annual forum that celebrates the very best in real estate, architecture, urban planning and design from around the world.  Last year, nearly 52,000 people attended the exhibition from 136 countries.  849 exhibitors marketed their projects across nearly 75,000m² of exhibition space.

Commenting on the exhibition, Jassim Al Jowder, CEO of Durrat Al Bahrain, said, “Cityscape Dubai is now one of the world’s leading real estate events and it has become an essential part of Durrat Al Bahrain’s marketing programme.  We have marketed our $6 billion development here for the past four years and have always found it extremely productive as the event captures so many real estate specialists and investors in one place.

“We’ve made a lot of progress this year and are now in the finishing stages of the first two phases of our island-based luxury villas.  We will be handing these over to some of the first owners next month, which will be a momentous occasion for all of those associated with the project.  We have also made progress on the other elements of the project including the Ernie Els 18 hole golf course precinct, as well as the creation of not-for-profit business, Durrat Resort Management, that we have created to help build the future community of Durrat Al Bahrain.

“Visitors to our stand will also be able to find out more about Durrat Marina, the $1.3 billion mixed-use marina development which forms part of Durrat Al Bahrain.  A joint venture between ourselves and Tameer, which will see a first of its kind marina development for the Middle East covering 700,000m².  Durrat Marina will offer a waterfront lifestyle of villas, town houses, apartments, commercial properties, recreational facilities, cafes and restaurants, all focused around its 400 berth marina.
“Cityscape Dubai provides us with the ideal opportunity to communicate how Durrat Al Bahrain is an ideal lifestyle destination for those wanting to live a contemporary urban lifestyle based in and around the beautiful waters of the southern Bahrain sea, either as a resident or as a visitor,” Al Jowder concluded.

Set in the azure waters of south Bahrain, the 21 km² development will offer The Islands, designed into two circular rows of six Atolls and five Petals, are 11 islands of 1700 luxury residential villas, gardens and beaches in an enchanting setting offering a sanctuary of peace and tranquillity.  The Crescent will be the urban hub of Durrat Al Bahrain, where residents and visitors will be able to lose themselves in a vibrant, cosmopolitan world of sensational dining experiences and exclusive designer shopping, right in the heart of Durrat Al Bahrain.

Residents, businesses and visitors will not only be able to live island lifestyles, but they will also benefit from the Golf Course, an 18 hole golf course designed by Ernie Els, the world-renowned golf champion.  The Golf Course Precinct will comprise a challenging yet enjoyable course, a club house, a driving range, a luxury hotel complex and stylishly designed luxury residential villas and apartments arranged around landscaped waterways, beach and sea fronts.  In partnership with Tameer, Durrat Khaleej Al Bahrain will also offer The Marina, one of the region’s leading marinas covering 700,000 m², offering 400 berths in a stunning location across three islands.  Residents and visitors will be able to sail, jetski, cruise on a motor boat or simply soak up the quay-side activity.
